Course Content
We know how important these courses are for your development so we draw upon years of experience leading rivers all over the world to give you the best training possible.
Although this course is no longer a pre-requsite for the assessment, we strongly recommend that paddlers attend one. You will hopefully learn lots from the instructors and fellow students, more about what BC is looking for in their leaders, more about the assessment process and develop an action plan to help you prepare well for the assessment if you wish to attend one.
We will focus our delivery around the following topics and tailor the learning to suit you as much as possible.
- Participant focused leadership skills
- Personal paddling skills
- Rescue skills
- Underpinning background knowledge, understanding and experience
At the of the course we will support you to make an action plan, helping you structure your journey towards assessment and then we will be on hand going forwards as a mentor to help you continue developing.
More information about the award can be found at the link below.
